LA CROSSE/EAU CLAIRE, Wis. (WLAX/WEUX) – Another day with new records in COVID-19 cases and deaths in Wisconsin.
For the first time since the pandemic started, the total number of new, daily positive tests is more than five thousand.
That brings the overall total in the state to more than 200-thousand.
64 more deaths push that total to more than 18-hundred. An additional 220 cases in the state require hospitalization.
With new records being set, Governor Evers is once again urging Wisconsinites to take precautions against the virus.
Evers said, “I see that the White House has given up on this issue and they’re focusing on things that are down the road, which, down the road is allowing lots of people to pass away. We’re not giving up here, and whatever we can do to encourage people to stay safer at home, we will do that.”
For the third day in last four, Eau Claire County’s total of new cases is more than 100.
Chippewa County adds 48 more positive tests today.
La Crosse County moves up by 84.
Dunn county increases by 22.
Barron county is up 31, along with one new fatality, a person in their late 70’s with underlying health conditions.
