LA CROSSE/EAU CLAIRE, Wis. (WLAX/WEUX) – As for the state numbers, slightly more than 2 thousand new cases are logged today along with 18 more deaths, bringing the total to one shyer of 14 hundred. The amount of recovered cases reported by the Wisconsin Department of Health Services is 80.7%.
The La Crosse County Health Department announced today that Health Director, Jen Rombalski has tested positive for COVID-19. In this statement, it says Rombalski is experiencing mild to moderate symptoms and is recuperating at home.
Officials say Rombalski was exposed by someone in her household, who also tested positive for COVID-19. That person was exposed while attending in-person education. No other members of the La Crosse County Health Department were exposed, as Rombalski and the majority of the staff are working remotely.
The Coulee COVID-19 Collaborative Dashboard shows a seventh fatality in La Crosse County, its second reported death in as many days.
State DHS moves La Crosse County up in positive COVID-19 tests by 37.
Eau Claire County adds 32 cases.
Chippewa County increases by eight.
Dunn County hits 700 overall positive tests with 12 more tallied today.
