LA CROSSE/EAU CLAIRE, Wis. (WLAX/WEUX) – For the second day in a row La Crosse County breaks a record with a total of 129 new COVID-19 cases reported today according to the Wisconsin Department of Health Services. This brings the county’s total to 1,754. The county’s death toll remains at 2.
In Eau Claire County, 61 new cases of COVID-19 are reported today by DHS. This is the second-highest number of cases the county has recorded in a single day period. Eau Claire County now has a total of 1,232 cases.
The death toll remains at six. 49.5 percent of the cases in the county are in people ages 20 to 29. UW-Eau Claire is not reporting any new cases today. A total of 184 cases of the virus have been connected to the university so far.
In Wisconsin, DHS is reporting 1,582 new cases of COVID-19 today. Now the state has close to 90 thousand cases of the virus. One more person has died from COVID-19 according to today’s numbers and 23 more people with the virus are hospitalized.
A total of 6,332 Wisconsinites with COVID-19 have had to go to the hospital. According to DHS, 87% of people in the state with COVID-19 have recovered.
