Coronavirus in Wisconsin: State and Local update, La Crosse and Eau Claire areas 4-1-21

LA CROSSE/EAU CLAIRE, Wisc. (WLAX/WEUX) – Today’s supreme court ruling comes on a day when more than 26,000 additional Wisconsinites are fully vaccinated against COVID-19. That puts the total percentage of people vaccinated at 17.9%. Eau Claire county moves up to 22.2% of its population inoculated. Chippewa county surpasses 20% today. La crosse county has fully vaccinated 21.4% of its community members. In Dunn county the percent of people vaccinated is at 15.3%.

There are 563 positive cases of COVID-19 reported by the state DHS today. This is out of more than 17,500 tests given. Ten more COVID deaths are reported. This is the second straight day with double digit deaths. Wisconsin’s 7-day positivity average is at 2.8%. Three weeks ago, that figure was at 2%. Eau Claire county’s case count increases by 20 today. Chippewa and La Crosse counties each added six cases. Dunn county tacks on 11 more positive test results.
