LA CROSSE/EAU CLAIRE, Wis. (WLAX/WEUX) – Wisconsin continues to make progress in the COVID-19 vaccination effort.
In today’s report, the Wisconsin Department of Health Services says 40 percent or about two million, three hundred thousand Wisconsinites have gotten at least one shot. 28 percent or about 1.6 million people in the state are now fully vaccinated.
Eau Claire and La Crosse counties reports 30 percent of residents have been fully vaccinated. 28 percent of Chippewa County residents are fully vaccinated. In Dunn County, 22 % of the population has been fully vaccinated.
Today, the number of COVID-19 cases in Wisconsin increased by more than 500. This pushes the total number of cases past 590 thousand.
97 percent are considered recovered, with more than nine thousand people dealing with an active case of the virus. 34 more people with COVID-19 are hospitalized and the state is taking back two deaths from yesterday’s report.
