Coronavirus in Wisconsin: State and Local update, La Crosse and Eau Claire areas 4-2-21

LA CROSSE/EAU CLAIRE, Wis. (WLAX/WEUX) – The “shots in the arm” continue to add up in Wisconsin.  Another 36- thousand Wisconsinites have finished their vaccination process.

That puts the total percentage of people vaccinated at 18.5.

Eau Claire County inoculates 23 percent of its population.

Chippewa County is at 20.6 percent.

La Crosse County’s vaccination percentage is 22.2.

In Dunn County, 15.7 percent of people are fully vaccinated against COVID-19.

The state DHS reports more than 500 new coronavirus cases for the third straight day. The 7-day average positivity rate rises to 2.9 percent.

This is where it was on February 16. Wisconsin’s death toll due to COVID-19 increases by three with deaths in nine counties, including Dunn.

This is Dunn county’s first COVID-19 death in nearly a month. New positive tests there increase by three.

Eau Claire County’s case count rises by nine.

Chippewa County’s total number of cases is lowered by one.

La Crosse County adds seven positive test results.
