Coronavirus in Wisconsin State and Local update, La Crosse and Eau Claire areas 4-28-21

LA CROSSE/EAU CLAIRE, Wis. (WLAX/WEUX) – So far, 31.9 percent of state residents are fully vaccinated for COVID-19. Close to 21-thousand more people have finished the “shots in the arm”.

Eau Claire County’s figure of inoculated community members moves up to 35.4. Chippewa County is at 32.4. La Crosse County rises to 36.4 and Dunn County surpasses a quarter of its population now fully vaccinated.

815 more positive tests for COVID-19 were logged today.

Wisconsin’s 7-day positivity average moved down a tenth-of-a-percent to 3.1.

17 more deaths tied to the virus were reported. That count is across 15 counties, including one new fatality each for La Crosse and Eau Claire counties.

La Crosse County also showed 17 new cases, marking the fifth day in last six with a double-digit increase.

Eau Claire County’s case count went up today by 2.

Chippewa and Dunn counties each tacked on 7 new positive tests for COVID-19.
