LA CROSSE/EAU CLAIRE, Wis. (WLAX/WEUX) – 32-thousand more Wisconsinites since yesterday finished the COVID-19 vaccination process.
That brings the state’s total to 35.8 percent.
Today, Eau Claire County cracked 40 percent of its population now inoculated. Chippewa County is at 36 percent. La Crosse County has vaccinated 42.5 percent of its population. Dunn County is set to eclipse 30 percent vaccinated for COVID-19 by tomorrow and Barron County reaches 33.3 percent.
State health officials reported COVID-19 deaths in the double digits for a third straight day today and the fourth time in a week. There were 14 deaths in 12 counties.
New cases increased by 667 and Wisconsin’s 7-day positivity average is at 3.3 percent.
La Crosse County lowered its COVID-19 case count by 8 today but, logged one new fatality , the second death there this week.
Eau Claire County added 2 more positive tests for COVID-19.
Chippewa County’s total increased by 8 and both Dunn and Barron counties each added 5 more positive tests for the virus.
