Coronavirus in Wisconsin: State and local updated, La Crosse and Eau Claire 3-29-21

LA CROSSE, Wis. (WLAX/WEUX) – Health officials say 29% of Wisconsinites have received at least one dose of the COVID-19 vaccine. The Wisconsin Department of Health Services is also reporting 17% of people in the state are fully vaccinated.

More than 2.5 million doses of the vaccine have been administered in Wisconsin so far. The state also reports over 400 new cases of the virus today. About 98% of people who have had the virus are considered recovered with just under 6,700 people having an active case of the virus. In today’s report, 30 more people are hospitalized, but the state is not reporting any new deaths.

22% of people in Eau Claire county are now fully vaccinated against COVID-19. 19% are fully vaccinated in Chippewa county. 15% in Dunn. And 21% in La Crosse.

Taking a look at new cases in the area: Eau Claire county adds four new cases, Chippewa county is not reporting any new cases, Dunn county tacks on nine, and La Crosse adds three new cases of COVID-19.
