COULEE REGION Wisc. (WLAX/WEUX) – Coulee Region medical personnel are being honored for saving a life from cardiac arrest. Seven Rivers Cardiac Arrest Preparedness and Education are recognizing people who have saved lives during the past two years.

Workers at Gundersen Tri-State Ambulance and Med-Comm were given their awards this morning. EMS educator Tom Carpenter says Seven Rivers wants to thank the dozens of people it takes to help someone having a heart attack.

7R-Cape EMS Educator Tom Carpenter said, “You have the dispatchers, the emergency medical dispatchers, the 911 dispatchers, the first responders, bystanders, all kinds of different walks of life, and then you have your firefighters, and paramedics, and first responder groups.”

Nearly 300 hundred people from organizations across the Coulee Region are being recognized. Personnel from the La Crosse Fire Department will receive their hero awards on November 30th.
