Council on Homelessness and Hunger says there are many unmet needs in Chippewa County

CHIPPEWA COUNTY, Wis. (WLAX/WEUX) – A group that looks at homelessness in Chippewa County says there are many unmet needs.

The Council on Homelessness and Hunger says data from area agencies shows about 220 people sought homelessness services in December in Chippewa County.

The group says last year, the average number of people seeking or receiving services was 181, with the lowest being 116 in April and 258 in October.

The council says one of the main goals in compiling the information is to create more awareness about homelessness in Chippewa County and to have specific data.
