COVID-19 daily update: Cases, deaths, vaccination rates in Wisconsin, La Crosse, Eau Claire (June 18, 2021)

LA CROSSE/EAU CLAIRE, Wis. (WLAX/WEUX) – State DHS shows an increase of two-tenths of a percent of those now fully vaccinated for covid-19. That puts the overall total at 44.8 percent.

Eau Claire County inches closer to 50-thousand people finishing the “shots in the arm”. Its total of fully vaccinated is at 47.7 percent.

Chippewa County has inoculated 42.6 percent of its community members.

La Crosse County’s total sits at 51.5 percent and Dunn County has now fully vaccinated 36.4 percent of its population.

After being used as an information hub for COVID-19 questions for over 15 months, the Eau Claire City County Health Department Call Center is closing.

The call center will close today at 4:30 pm.

It opened in partnership with UW-Eau Claire on March 25, 2020 to respond to the community need for knowledge on a variety of COVID-19 related questions.

From March 2020 through today staff responded to over 10 thousand calls.
