LA CROSSE/EAU CLAIRE, Wis. (WLAX/WEUX) -Over the last 24 hours, another ten thousand Wisconsinites have completed the COVID-19 vaccination series. That’s according to the Wisconsin Department of Health Services which also reports nearly 41 percent of the state’s population, or about 2.4 million people are now fully vaccinated.
About 47 percent, or just over 2.7 million people have received the first dose of a COVID-19 vaccine.
Taking a look at completed vaccinations around western Wisconsin. Eau Claire County is reporting 44 percent of the county is fully vaccinated. 39 percent in Chippewa County, Dunn County reports 33 percent of its population is fully vaccinated, and La Crosse County tallies 47 percent.
According to the state health department, over the last day, nearly 5 percent of COVID-19 tests came back positive.
The state is reporting 147 new cases of COVID-19 today, the total in the state now sits at just over 608 thousand, of those cases, 98 percent are considered recovered, with just over 6-thousand people dealing with an active case of the virus.
In today’s report, 23 more Wisconsinites are hospitalized, and no new deaths are being reported.
