LA CROSSE/EAU CLAIRE, Wis. (WLAX/WEUX) – The badger state reaches a grim milestone today in the fight against COVID-19.
Five deaths tied to the coronavirus push Wisconsin’s total number of deaths to more than 7- thousand. In addition, 330 more cases are logged by the State Department of Health Services. Wisconsin’s 7-day positivity average drops to 2.3 percent.
New, positive tests in Eau Claire County go up by three. Chippewa County sees its largest one-day increase in nearly four months with 16 cases. La Crosse County adds five positive test results. In Dunn County, two cases are reported.
More than 2.4 million Wisconsinites are vaccinated against COVID-19. Another 12- thousand people today put the overall percentage at 41.3. Eau Claire County fully-vaccinates 44.5 percent of its population.
Chippewa County closes in on 40 percent.
In La Crosse County, the inoculation percentage is 47.7. Dunn County moves up to 33.7 percent.
