For the first time in the event’s history, the Coulee Region Humane Society’s annual adopt-a-thon will run for an entire week! This year’s adopt-a-thon theme is “Furassic Park,” paying homage to the widely successful Jurassic Park franchise. CRHS encourages those looking for a new furry family member to “unleash the beasts” and welcome an honorary dino (that looks suspiciously like a cat or dog) into their lives August 29th – September 4th!

During the week of the event, adopters can name their own adoption fee for all cats and kittens, and select dogs. All small animals, such as rabbits, Guinea pigs, and hamsters, will have their adoption fees waived.

The Humane Society reaches pique capacity during the summer and fall, which makes this the perfect time of the year to promote adoptions. To goal of the adopt-a-thon is to send as many pets to their forever homes as possible during the event.

Standard CRHS adoption procedures apply. All adopters must submit an application and receive an approval prior to adopting. Approved adopters can schedule a meet with an animal of interest prior to adoption. For more information about the adopt-a-thon, and other ways the community can help the shelter, head to or call the Coulee Region Humane Society at 608-781-4014.

The promotion will run August 29th – September 4th
