Derek Chauvin, former Minneapolis Police Officer, released from prison

Minneapolis, Minn. (WLAX/WEUX) – Derek Chauvin, the former Minneapolis Police Officer charged with murder in the death of George Floyd, has posted bond and has been released from jail.

Chauvin was released from the Minnesota Correctional Facility in Oak Park Heights where he has been held since May.

He was then transferred to the Hennepin County Jail where he posted bail.

A court document shows Chauvin was released on a non-cash, conditional bail which was set at 1-million dollars.

Chauvin and three other former officers are scheduled to stand trial in March
