CHIPPEWA FALLS, Wis. (WLAX/WEAU) – The Chippewa County District Attorney says the case against a teenager charged with killing ten-year-old Lily Peters should stay in Adult Court. The attorney for the now 15-year-old suspect wants to move the trial to Juvenile Court.
In a reverse waiver hearing in August, the judge ordered both the defense and prosecution to provide briefs of their opinions by November 17th and responses by December 8th. The DA says moving the case would diminish the seriousness of the crime and says the teenager would receive better treatment if he is tried as an adult.
The defense has not yet released their brief.
