EAU CLAIRE Wis. (WLAX/WEUX) – With the frigid winter temperatures here, one area school district is asking for your help to keep students properly dressed for the season. Since the beginning of the school year, the Eau Claire area school district has identified about 150 students experiencing homelessness.

A closet located at the district’s main building is filled with essentials such as snow pants, snow boots, hats, mittens, and coats. However, there is still demand. Winter gear donations of all sizes are needed, especially new or gently used coats size youth and toddler.

“Snow pants, boots these things are all expensive. When a family is trying to figure out if they can pay for the electric bill, or can purchase these items, we don’t want them to have to worry about that. We want their child to have what they need for school, be able to come and participate and that family to feel good about what their child has, and not have to worry about it.”

Graham says winter gear donations of all sizes are needed, especially new or gently used coats size youth and toddler. You can drop donation items off at the district’s administration building.
