EAU CLAIRE COUNTY, Wisc. (WLAX) — Three finalists have been named to take over as the next Eau Claire County District Attorney following the resignation of longtime DA Gary King.
The governor’s office released the names of the finalists Friday on King’s last day in office. They are Edward Minser who currently serves as an assistant DA in Chippewa County, Peter Rindal who is the deputy DA in Eau Claire County and Tiffany Winter who has been a criminal lawyer since 2013 and worked as an assistant DA in Eau Claire County.
King resigned on July 9 amid an investigation into allegations he sexually harassed employees and was intoxicated at work. He had served as the Eau Claire County DA since first being elected to the post in 2012.
The governor’s office said the position will be filled as quickly as possible. In the meantime, assistant DAs will take over King’s caseload.
