EAU CLAIRE, Wis. (WLAX/WEUX) – Kids helping kids. That’s the idea behind Hope Gospel Mission’s Third Annual Change for Kids Donation Drive.

Today, kids in the valley were asked to donate their change.

All the funds go to the mission’s shelter for women and children.

The center teaches life skills to mom’s including how to raise a baby and manage money.

The fundraiser is a chance for kids to learn they don’t have to wait until they’re older to make a difference.

Sandi Polzin, Executive Director of Hope Gospel Mission said, “Sometimes these kiddos don’t have a place to sleep, they don’t have anywhere to rest their head, and they don’t know where their next meal is coming from. We’re trying to empower the children of our valley to realize this is actually happening in their backyard. You don’t always have to go across the ocean to realize there is an impact here in the valley. We want to make a difference in the lives of the kids here.”

The Executive Director says in past years, this drive has raised 20- thousand dollars.
