EAU CLAIRE, Wis. (WLAX/WEUX) – An Eau Claire Fitness Center is being sold to the YMCA of the Chippewa Valley. In a statement released (Tuesday) morning, the YMCA says it is working to acquire the Eau Claire Fitness Center and convert it into the “Eau Claire South” YMCA by the first of the year.

YMCA President and CEO Derek White says this location will provide a wide range of health and wellness, youth development and outreach programs, “What we want to do is ensure that everyone has the ability to come and participate. So, they might come exercise, but they might come to have some social time with their family, and swim in the pool and shoot some basketball.

White says the YMCA will be working to make the transition from Eau Claire fitness to YMCA as painless as possible for those who already use the facility, including giving those people access to all YMCA facilities.

This will be the 3rd full-service YMCA location in the Chippewa Valley.
