EAU CLAIRE, Wis. (WLAX/WEUX) – The music festival, just outside of Eau Claire, kicked off today after last year’s event was canceled.

Executive Director Kathy Wright says the pandemic did mean some logistical changes had to be made to make the event safe.

Even so, she adds this year’s installment of the popular music festival still has plenty of familiarity to it.

For one Minneapolis man who comes to the festival each year, he says returning is a chance to reunite with a special group of music lovers.

Ethan Cooper said, “You have your family reunions once a year. You didn’t have it for two years. Country jam, it’s family, it’s once a year. You had to hold off, drink twice as much beer, try to behave, and have some fun.”

Country Jam continues through Saturday.

Tickets for today and Saturday are still available online, at the grounds, or at Blains Farm and Fleet.

Shuttle service from local hotels is also available.
