Electric Vehicle Experience held for Chippewa Valley residents

EAU CLAIRE, Wisc. (WLAX) — Area residents had the opportunity to learn about electric vehicles during the second annual Electric Vehicle Experience.

The Chippewa Valley Technical College and the Eau Claire Energy Cooperative partnered to host the event Saturday.

“Our goal is to educate students, but also the public, about the current trends in the industry,” Adam Wehling, CWTC Dean of Agriculture said. “Anywhere from a Pacifica mini-van all the way down to different types of cars, we have bicycles here, electric motorcycles.”

Wehling said he hopes the event helps broaden people’s horizons.

“We really want to be a demonstration campus, so people can see and learn about all the feasible types of energy production vehicles, tech, jobs that are out there,” he said.

The event included test drives with vehicles provided by local EV owners and dealerships.
