Wis. (WLAX/WEUX) – School districts across southeast Wisconsin are receiving what appear to be false threats of school shootings. The FBI says it’s “aware” of fake active shooter threats at schools across Wisconsin today.

The Eau Claire and Chippewa Falls school districts released statements to families saying they’re aware of the incidents in other parts of the state. They say they take all threats seriously and law enforcement officers will work to identify and apprehend those who make fake threats.

Barron County Sheriff Chris Fitzgerald says there was a fake call into the Cameron Village Hall today, reporting an active shooter at Cameron High School. The sheriff’s department mobilized some resources but confirmed the report was fake before anyone reached the school.
