SPARTA Wis. (WLAX/WEUX) – A woman is dead, and a man is critically injured after a one-vehicle crash in Sparta. Around 10:40 am, the Sparta police department responded to the collision on Wisconsin Street and Aspen Boulevard. Police say bystanders pulled two individuals from the car which was on fire.

67-year-old Mary Slonka died at the scene. 67-year-old Timothy Slonka was flown to Gundersen, he is currently in critically stable condition. Sparta police and Wisconsin state patrol continue to investigate the incident.
