A local food pantry is working to make sure people who are food insecure are taken care of as things shutdown due to the coronavirus.
Feed my People Food Bank on Monday packed more than 1800 meals for students in the Eau Claire and Chippewa Falls area school districts.
Volunteers also packed hundreds of meals for meals on wheels and an emergency pop up pantry.
Feed my People executive director Emily Moore says the program is working on a number of different emergency strategies.
“This is really a time of uncertainty for everyone. We understand that it is even more difficult for folks who are experiencing food insecurity. One of the strategies we hope will work well will be drive-thru pantry opportunities; we are working toward setting these up,” said executive director Emily Moore.
Moore said the pantry has plenty of food and will be working to distribute it accordingly
