The first positive case of COVID-19 in Chippewa County was reported this afternoon.
According to a release from the Chippewa County Department of Public Health, the individul had traveled where exposure likely occurred.
The individual is doing well and following instruction from the health department. The health department said they are working with the person and following with anyone who may have been in contact with that person.
In the release, Angela Weideman, Chippewa County Public Health Director/Officer said, “We have been preparing for this day, with the help of our community partners. We continue to work closely with DHS and monitor the situation in Chippewa County. We want to remind the public to be prepared, but do not panic.”
