First Putt for Scouting Golf Tournament held to help raise money for kids to participate in Boy Scouts

The Chippewa Valley Council for Boy Scouts of America hosted a golf tournament. This course had much shorter fairways and colorful golf balls. The first-ever Putt for Scouting Golf Tournament was held at Action City in Eau Claire.

The event helps raise money for kids to go to camp, cover registration fees, and buy uniforms.

“We don’t want anyone not to be able to join scouting because of a financial barrier,” said Tim Molepske, Chippewa Valley Council for Boy Scouts of America CEO. “We want to be accessible to and by all just because we want them to experience our values and character and leadership training that we provide.”

Between 20 to 30 people signed up for this year’s inaugural event and the council hopes it can expand for 2022.
