Founder of Fall Creek nonprofit makes first court appearance

FALL CREEK, Wis. (WLAX/WEUX) – The Fall Creek woman accused of stealing thousands of dollars from a local nonprofit organization makes her first court appearance today.

51-year-old Shauna Hanson made appeared in Eau Claire County court via Zoom.

She’s the founder of “Helping Hands for our Children.” Last month, she was charged with theft, accused of depositing more than 63- thousand dollars meant for her charity into her personal bank account.

A criminal complaint says this happened during the course of three years.

A 25- hundred-dollar signature bond was issued for Hanson.

A motion hearing is scheduled for December 7th.
