It’s a time full of cheer.
Especially during the winter season as many people get together to celebrate the holidays.
The expectations and exhaustion from all the holiday planning can be a bit overwhelming at some times, that’s why organizers say by holding this community event they’re giving people the opportunity to just come in and enjoy a meal.
A community event that offers a free Christmas meal and talent pageant from kids
It’s taken me by surprise it’s a lot bigger than expected.
Hosted by fellowship church of Chippewa falls, pastor Perry Polniaczek says it’s about giving back to the community.
What we’re looking to do is offer community to those people that maybe need a meal or might not have family or relatives in the area, it’s just kind of a big Christmas chaos and kids kind of a program
15- Dozen eggs, 28- pounds of ham and 22- pounds of turkey later.
It started off at 1230 pm and ended at 1230 pm, I wish I had a second oven
Organizers say they were able to feed around 100 people
It is an opportunity for people to come in and have a meal with us, watch the kids program, it’s always really cute, and kids are just darling,
Around 50 volunteers helped with the event as several donations came in of Christmas gifts and food. An opportunity to provide food and laughter.
I think it’s the spirit of Christmas where we have such hopelessness in our culture today, and Christmas to me represents the spirit of hope and of change
