EAU CLAIRE, Wis. (WLAX/WEUX) – Governor Evers was touting tourism Thursday, which included a stop at the Chippewa Valley Museum in Eau Claire.
The governor, along with State First Lady Kathy Evers, made the visit as part of national travel and tourism week.
The Chippewa Valley Museum briefly shut down at the start of the COVID-19 pandemic, re-opening last june, with safety measures put in place.
Evers says visits to attractions like the museum can help give local economies a boost coming out of the pandemic.
Evers said, “It’s double – triple – the effort to keep places like this that are smaller, but really important events as the local community, but to the state itself. So, whatever we can do to make sure that we are getting over this pandemic and people are getting shots in arms, and we’re wearing a mask when we need to be doing that, that’s all-important to make sure places like this continue to do the great work.”
