CHIPPEWA VALLEY Wis. (WLAX/WEUX) – Tourism in the Chippewa Valley received a boost today as the Wisconsin Department of Tourism awarded money to a variety of events as part of the joint effort marketing or “JEM” program. The Wisconsin Department of Tourism awarded more than one million dollars in JEM grants to help promote events.

Country Jam and the Eau Claire marathon are just two of the events receiving grant money. Maria Van Hoorn with the department of tourism says the goal is to help Wisconsin tourism grow

“2022 is expected to be a huge year for tourism’s recovery. So, JEM grant checks, like the ones we distributed today, are certainly going to help with that. Just knowing that Wisconsin is ready to deliver what travelers are looking for,” said Van Hoorn.

The grant awards are part of National Travel and Tourism Week.
