LA CROSSE Wis. (WLAX/WEUX) – Volunteers are needed to help with hospice care at Gundersen Health System. According to information from Gundersen, the hospice staff has shrunk since the start of the pandemic, and the workers could use extra help with everyday duties.

Hospice volunteers would help families with end-of-life care by offering companionship through playing games, listening to stories, or simply watching tv.

These jobs can take place in a patient’s home, assisted living center, or nursing home. A training session must be completed at the Gundersen Hospital in La Crosse. The next of these training sessions is March 11th.
