Habitat for Humanity restores home for Eau Claire family

CHIPPPEWA VALLEY, Wis. (WLAX/WEUX) – An Eau Claire woman says she’s been searching for a home of her own for two years.

Thanks to Chippewa Valley Habitat for Humanity, the Eau Claire housing authority and royal credit union. Marlie Sabelko’s dream is coming true.

With the help of volunteers, the three organizations are restoring a home for Sabelko and her daughter.

Sabelko says she’s grateful for everyone’s help.

“To decorate it all and to make Laine’s room into what she wants. Just for her to be happy and for her to be excited to want to come home it’s kind of a surreal feeling, but I guess I never thought that this would ever be happening in my life, but I’m very thankful for all these people”

Sabelko will be able to move into her new home next month.

Chippewa valley Habitat for Humanity has restored four homes this year and hopes to do even more next year.
