LA CROSSE, Wis. (WLAX/WEUX) – Halloween is next Tuesday, but many people around the area are expected to celebrate this weekend. La Crosse Police Sergeant, Brooke Pataska, says the department expects it to be a busy weekend, adding there are plenty of ways that citizens can stay safe, while also having a good time, “Make sure that you know where you are going, and you know the addresses. Stay with groups of friends, make sure that they kind of know where you’re going as well. Leave with a cell phone battery that’s fully charged so you can communicate with friends or whatever different destinations maybe you’re going to.”
Sergeant Pataska also says people can use Uber, taxis, buses, and designated drivers to get around safely. There are also shuttles for college students to get back to campus safely. Pataska also warns people to dress appropriately, as the weather looks to be cooling down this weekend.
