EAU CLAIRE Wis. (WLAX/WEUX) – A fire broke out at a home on Main Street in Eau Claire yesterday morning. The Eau Claire Fire Department says at around 5:30, crews arrived and found smoke coming out of the floor and walls between the basement and first floor.

The fire was put out in the basement as crews looked for people living in the building. It was discovered that two people were able to make it out before the crews arrived. No one was hurt and the cause of the fire is under investigation.
