House fires in Jackson and Clark Counties, one body found

(WLAX/WEUX) Neillsville, Wis – A body is found after a house fire in Neillsville. Crews were still on the scene of the fire this morning near the intersection of 12th and Emery Street.

The Neillsville Fire Department says a neighbor called the fire in. When firefighters arrived flames were coming out of the windows and the roof. It took about 20 minutes for the Neillsville Fire Department to put that blaze out.

The Fire Chief says a neighboring house sustained some melted siding. No further information about the body found in the home is being released yet, but an autopsy is being performed.

(WLAX/WEUX) Jackson County, Wis – No one is hurt in a house fire in Jackson County yesterday. This was reported after 2 p.m. in a home roughly 100 yards off of US Hwy 10 near the village of Fairchild.

The Fairchild Fire Department says the home belongs to members of the Amish community, but no one was there at the time of the fire. No word yet on what caused it.
