In person absentee voting starts Tuesday

Local News

IN-PERSON ABSENTEE VOTING STARTS THIS TUESDAY IN EAU CLAIRE AT CITY HALL.

LIKE THE PRIMARIES… IT’LL BE DRIVE-THROUGH VOTING OUTSIDE SO VOTERS DON’T SPREAD COVID-19.

IT’LL TAKE PLACE IN THE CITY HALL PARKING LOT.

THE CITY WILL ALSO BLOCK OFF PART OF DEWEY STREET.

POLL WORKERS WILL BE IN SEVEN TENTS.

THEY’LL MEET VOTERS AT THEIR CARS… CHECK THEIR I-D’S AND GIVE THEM A BALLOT.

VOTERS MUST RETURN THEIR BALLOT ON-SITE.

CITY OFFICIALS SAY ABSENTEE VOTING… IN-PERSON AND BY MAIL… WILL MAKE THINGS EASIER ON ELECTION DAY AS PEOPLE TRY TO VOTE DURING THE PANDEMIC.

“Now with COVID we can’t allow people to be very close to each other and we have to limit the amount of people we have inside the polling place at one time. So, if everyone who wanted to vote in the previous presidential election went down to the poll site, there’d probably be lines down the block.”

PEOPLE CAN REGISTER ON-SITE TOO.

IN-PERSON ABSENTEE VOTING LASTS FROM TUESDAY-THROUGH SATURDAY AND THE NEXT WEEK FROM OCTOBER 26TH THROUGH THE 30TH.

ONLY EAU CLAIRE CITY RESIDENTS CAN VOTE AT CITY HALL.
