Wis. (WLAX/WEUX) – Consumers are feeling less optimistic about the economy. Consumer sentiment fell this month after two months of gains. Surging rates of inflation are likely to be part of the reason.

The most recent Consumer Price Index shows prices up more than eight percent in September. Compared to last year, food prices are up 13 percent year over year. And gas is up 18 percent, compared to last year.

Financial experts believe the drop in sentiment may impact shoppers this holiday season.
