Nobody fights alone: Community rallies around mom diagnosed with cancer

Local News

MENOMONIE, Wisc. (WLAX) — A Menomonie mom is fighting cancer for the second time, and the community showed up Saturday to let her know she is not alone.

A benefit was held for Jamie Klatt at Kyote’s Den with money raised through raffles, games and t-shirt sales.

A long-time friend of Klatt, Jennifer Ford, organized the event. She said it was heartwarming to see the outpouring of support.

“It feels good,” Ford said. “It gives me goosebumps every time I think about it. She would do anything for anybody so I feel this is what we needed to do; she would do it for anybody else. It feels really good, the family loves the support. Eveyone’s been really helpful, the community here has been awesome.”

Ford said proceeds from the event will go directory to Klatt and her family to help with medical expenses.
