LA CROSSE COUNTY, Wis. (WLAX/WEUX) – Three people are in custody after what police says is the largest fentanyl seizure in La Crosse County.
The La Crosse Police Department say they took one of the suspects, Jesse Stringer into custody on Tuesday while conducting a traffic stop after stringer left a residence in the 1900 Block of Miller Street.
An emergency response team simultaneously conducted a “knock and announce” warrant at the residence.
Two other suspects, Jerrad Simms and Caprice Washington were at the apartment at the time and were also taken into custody after trying to escape by jumping out a window.
Police found a pound of fentanyl, a pound of marijuana, along with some cocaine. They also found a loaded pistol and more than 15 thousand dollars in cash.
Officials estimate the fentanyl to have a street value of 45 thousand dollars.
All three are facing multiple narcotics trafficking charges.
