List of area closures and cancellations due to coronavirus

We will update these lists as we learn more and are able. 

Recommendations from the CDC, the World Health Organization, Department of Health Services and local health departments to cancel large gatherings to help prevent the spread of the COVID-19 (coronavirus) are causing several area events and colleges to cancel, postpone or reschedule.

La Crosse:
Living Word Christian Church has canceled all of its activities but will live streaming church services on Sundays at 8:30 a.m. and Wednesdays at 7:00 p.m. at
Packers Tailgate Tour- Canceled- See press release below
Kohl’s will be closing at 7 p.m. March 19 through the end of March
Fayze’s- Closed until further notice
David Reay’s Modern Diner + Tavern – closed until further notice
Dublin Square- Closed until further notice
UW-L- classes will continue in online and other distance formats for the remainder of the semester.  click here for more.

Hotel California – A salute to the Eagles event has been canceled.
Aptiv’s Game On! The Ultimate Game Night 2020 – Postponed (see press release below)
All Aging & Disability Resource Center (ADRC) of La Crosse County-affiliated classes and events are canceled or postponed now through 4/30. For more information please check the ADRC website or call the ADRC at 608-785-5700 for updates.
Freedom Honor Flight- Organizers from Freedom Honor Flight on Thursday postponed the May 9 flight to Washington, D.C.
Coulee Parenting Connection- Canceled Sunday Family Fun Expo at the Onalaska OmniCenter.
The 46th annual custom auto show, set for March 20-21 at the La Crosse Center, has been canceled.
The La Crosse Parks & rec and Forestry Department has canceled multiple events click here for a list of events.
Concordia Ballroom has canceled dances for March 14-15 and March 20
The prostate cancer support group on March 16 at at Gundersen Health System has been canceled.
The Children’s Museum of La Crosse – temporarily closed beginning Monday, March 16. Click here for more information.
La Crosse Public Library (all branches)- Closed March 18- April 13 Click here for information.
La Crosse and Onalaska YMCA locations- classes and programs suspended until further notice. See the release here for more information.
La Crosse County Library- Youth Programming canceled, Thank Goodness It’s Donut Friday canceled on March 27, Sias Saturday Canceled on March 28. Visit their Facebook Page for more.
Harlem Globetrotters scheduled for March 26 at the La Crosse Center has been postponed.
Zor Shrine Circus scheduled for April 21 at the La Crosse Center has been canceled. For more information on both the Globetrotters and Circus visit the La Crosse Center Facebook Page.
La Crosse Area Chamber of Commerce- suspending in person events (Honor Student Banquet, Business After Hours, Business Summit)
Dahl YMCA- will close on March 17 COB to members so they can re-purpose that facility to provide emergency school age childcare
R.W. Houser YMCA- will close March 17 COB to members so they can re-purpose that facility to provide emergency school age childcare- childcare center at the Houser Y will remain open.  
Beaver Creek Reserve Nature Center – Closed through April 6.

Winona County Board Meeting- canceled for March 24
City of La Crosse- All committee meetings canceled through March and April. *Board of Public Works (March 30), City Plan Commission (March 30), J&A (March 31), F&P (April 2), and Common Council (April 9) meetings are still on at this time.

UWEC- Spring break extended, classes then to be online through April 17 Learn more here.
O’Claire Irish Fest- canceled
L.E. Phillips Memorial Public Library – All library programs, events, meeting room bookings, and outreach services will be suspended. Learn more here.
Children’s Museum of Eau Claire- Closed beginning Monday March 16 – March 30 . Find out more here.
