A local refuge house that has been serving the Chippewa Valley since 1976 is implementing a new way to reach those affected by domestic violence and sexual assault.
The Bolton Refuge House in Eau Claire has started a new podcast called, Silence no More.
They hope to further educate the public about domestic violence and sexual assault. The podcast will feature stories of those affected and will act as an educational tool.
Podcast co-host and Bolton House employee, Olivia Blaylock, says the new podcast is very rewarding.
“It’s super rewarding, especially because it’s been a little more successful than we anticipated, and we have people in shelter who have mentioned things and they get really excited about it. So yeah, it’s super rewarding, it’s super fun, and I’m excited to see where this goes in the next six months,” said Blaylock.
The podcast already has four episodes and will incorporate a new episode every Tuesday and every other Thursday.
It will feature local experts in law enforcement and healthcare.
