Wis. (WLAX/WEUX) – The state of Wisconsin is ending extra COVID-19 food share benefits by March 1st. With the benefits coming to an end, local food pantries are preparing for higher demand.

The executive directors at the Community Table and Feed My People Food Bank in Eau Claire both say they already see greater demand. Still, they are prepared to help the community battle hunger.

“And I really would ask that the community help spread the word that help is there. If you know somebody or you need a little bit of extra food, we are there for you especially if you are going to see a reduction in your benefits please give us a call, or go to our website we will connect you with something that is in your area.”

The Executive Director of the Community Table says these cuts will impact the community significantly but says there are many resources available. The community table and feed my people are always looking for donations and volunteers.
