You might not expect an alley to be the place where artists can express themselves, but one local group is looking to change that.
The Color Block Committee is trying to turn the alley behind Brent Douglas Flowers in Eau Claire into a mural site.
The site would be home to dozens of artists who wish to share their work with the community.
The Color Block Committee chairperson says the site is perfect for the expansion of the art scene in Eau Claire.
“It’s a natural extension of the renaissance that’s happening further down north Barstow. We have an opportunity to turn a relatively overlooked part of our town into something that’s really a destination,” said Color Block chairperson, Kelsey Wenberg.
The committee is partnering with the Eau Claire sculpture tour and putting out a call for local, regional and even national artists to participate in the project.
They say they hope to start painting next summer.
