Wis. (WLAX/WEUX) – A new non-profit is focusing on suicide prevention and awareness for those who protect and serve. Hope 4 Heroes is working to end the stigma associated with mental health for firefighters, police officers, veterans, and those working in other related careers.

Several first responders pledged to walk 100 miles in the month of September to raise money to launch the new organization. Family and friends cheered on the heroes as they walked the final 11 miles together.

“Hope 4 Heroes is to help our heroes, which include our law enforcement, our veterans and dispatchers, our EMS team, and our police officers. We want them to know that they are not alone”

The over 100-mile walk raised over 2-thousand dollars.
