Some local schools are getting major upgrades this summer.
The Eau Claire Area School District is currently renovating 13 of 22 buildings in the area.
Major upgrades include seven schools getting secure entrances while several other schools are getting roof work done.
A new ventilation system is being installed at Memorial High School.
Interim director of buildings and grounds at the Eau Claire Area School District Darryl Petersen says the schools will be ready when kids come back in august.
“As of right now, all of the projects are as close to being on schedule as we could hope for. Obviously were looking at most of the deadlines are happening around that second week in august to allow some time to put everything back together,” said Peterson.
Memorial and North High schools will also be getting upgrades to their culinary programs.
Petersen said that the new project will hopefully allow the schools to expand what they can offer students.
