MADISON Wis. (WLAX/WEUX) – People in Madison laced up their shoes and walked around Elver Park yesterday morning to spread awareness of Alzheimer’s disease. The Alzheimer’s and Dementia Alliance of Wisconsin held the annual fundraising event.

Participants formed teams and walked with friends and family to recognize, celebrate, and support those impacted by the disease. The Alzheimer’s Association says more than 6 million Americans are currently living with the disease.

“This is what we have tried hard to do, is to prepare and plan for the future, but live in the day today.”
