MADISON, Wis. (WLAX/WEUX) – The man charged in the brutal attack of a UW-Madison student over the Labor Day weekend returned to court. During his arraignment, 26-year-old Brandon Thompson had not-guilty pleas entered on his behalf on charges of first-degree sexual assault, first-degree reckless injury, and strangulation and suffocation. Thompson is being held on a one-million-dollar bond.

He’s accused in the attack and sexual assault of a woman, which happened in the early morning of September 3rd, and left her fighting for her life. Thompson told investigators he couldn’t remember sexually assaulting her.
