Man killed in Eau Claire officer-involved shooting after stabbing a woman

EAU CLAIRE, Wis. (WLAX/WEUX) – The name of the man who died in an Eau Claire officer-involved shooting last week has been identified.

The incident happened on November 3rd at a home in the 400 block of Selma Street on the city’s northwest side.

The DOJ’s division of criminal investigation says 30 year old Lekenneth Miller broke in and stabbed a female inside the home.

A second female in the home at the time was able to escape before officers arrived.

According to the DCI, Eau claire police officers Kristopher O’Neill and Jason Kaveney found Miller with a knife when they arrived, and one of the officers shot him.

Miller died at the scene.

The female who was stabbed was taken to the hospital.

Officers O’Neill and Kaveney are on administrative leave – per department policy.

The investigation is ongoing by the DCI.
